The fall equinox lands September 22, and daylight is already shrinking by close to three minutes a day. That's not enough to notice on any single afternoon, but stacked over a couple of weeks, it adds up to a real dip in the light your body's used to running on, and you'll likely feel it first as an energy crash that arrives earlier than it used to.
Here's the reframe: that slump showing up earlier and earlier isn't a willpower problem, it's a light problem. Your circadian rhythm times energy and cortisol around light exposure, so as the sun starts dipping earlier, your natural energy curve shifts earlier too, sometimes before lunch even wraps up. Fighting it with more caffeine just delays the crash instead of preventing it.
Get outside before you get coffee. Ten minutes of morning light does more for your circadian rhythm than the first cup does, and it makes that cup work better when you do reach for it.
Move your afternoon reset earlier. If your slump used to hit at 3, start planning around 1:30 or 2 instead of fighting a schedule that's already shifted.
Front-load your nutrients instead of powering through. Keep something like the Immunity Booster Kit on hand so the ginger, lemon and turmeric are already working before the dip hits, not after.
Stock the fridge now, and the equinox won't catch you off guard this year.

This was a timely read! I never really connected that earlier afternoon slump with the seasonal shift in daylight but it makes so much sense.
Plus, it is true (and I’m admitting I’m guilty here), I need to get outside more often before coffee instead of just trying to power through with more caffeine…my body will thank me later lol.
Is there a Joia juice you’d recommend specifically for that afternoon energy dip? 👀🍋
