Summer's loose schedule doesn't survive first contact with September. This is the moment for a fall routine reset, but the alarms are back, the calendar's full, and the instinct is to fix it all by Monday.
Resist it. A routine built in a panic on a Sunday night rarely survives a Tuesday. What sticks isn't the overhaul, it's the layer: one small ritual at a time, on top of what's already working. Here's how you do it:
Anchor one meal. Pick your most chaotic meal (usually breakfast) and make just that one consistent before touching anything else.
Reclaim the transition. Mark the shift from work mode to home mode with something small, a walk, a change of clothes, a drink you only have in that window.
Protect one hour. Block 30 to 60 minutes a day that nothing gets to claim, before fall calendars fill in around it.
Keeping a few bottles of Joia in the fridge makes that first ritual effortless: no prep, no decision, just grab and go.
You don't need fall figured out by mid-September. One solid ritual is enough to build the next one on top of.
